D'oh! The Simpsons Celebrate 20 Years at the 2009 Fremont Oktoberfest

Seattle, WA (Vocus) July 9, 2009 -- Join The Simpsons (www.fremontoktoberfest.com) in celebration of 20 years of television history at the 2009 Fremont Oktoberfest (www.fremontoktoberfest.com), September 18-20. The festival, which has been claimed by USA Today as one of the top ten places to toast the Oktoberfest celebration, has been chosen by The Simpsons team to be the West Coast host for the 20th year celebration.

The show premiered January 14, 1990 and has earned the titles of longest-running American sitcom, longest-running American animated program and longest running American primetime entertainment series. The parody of Middle Class America has also earned the show numerous Emmy's, Peabody's, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Simpsons pay tribute to their fans and celebrate their "Springfield" lifestyle by sponsoring some of the nation's elite microbrew festivals including Oktoberfest on the Minneapolis Riverfront, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati USA, The Great American Beer Festival, Hotoberfest in Atlanta, and Fremont Oktoberfest. The team over at The Simpsons camp thought that the Fremont Oktoberfest fits the show demographics "like a glove."

All guests of the Fremont Oktoberfest get to bring a bit of The Simpsons home with them with commemorative glassware. The Simpsons (www.fremontoktoberfest.com) will also sponsor the Main Stage acts and help choose the real life "Santa's Little Helper" (the Simpson's retired racing Greyhound) with a look-a-like contest on Sunday, September 20th.

Join in the celebration of TV history and the kick-off to fall September 18-20 at the Fremont Oktoberfest. The Simpsons can be viewed in the Seattle and Washington area on Q13 Fox Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:30pm and Sundays at 8pm.

About The Fremont Oktoberfest

The Fremont Oktoberfest (www.fremontoktoberfest.com) features over 70 microbrews in three beer gardens with two-entertainment stages jam packed with musical acts, the infamous Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest, and CityDog Cover Dog Modeling Contest. The weekend also hosts a wine garden, cigar lounge, Brew HA-HA Comedy Show, Brew HA-HA 5K Run, Kid's area and street scramble. A portion of the proceeds from The Fremont Oktoberfest go toward the Fremont Chamber of Commerce funding local schools, art groups, community events and promoting Fremont as the "Center of the Universe."
